Involvement

Passions can surface outside our professional careers, and community involvement often encompasses many of those passions.  First and foremost is Dave’s commitment to his church.  He has sung in the church choir and taught adult Sunday School and catechetical classes. Over the years he has served as congregational council president of two different Lutheran Churches.  Dave and his wife Donna were elected to several synodical assemblies, most recently as congregational representatives to the 2013 Lower Susquehanna Synod Assembly.  Both are active in Bible study within the congregation.

Dave’s current involvement, in addition to his church, includes:

  • assisting the Lancaster SCORE Chapter 16
  • working with the “Good Morning Hempfield” business organization
  • being a small business member of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • service on the Susquehanna University Alumni Board
  • participating on the Community Relations Committee of the Harrisburg Area Community College
  • joining the Lancaster Liederkranz

In addition, Dave served previously

  • as a citizenship merit badge counselor for the Pennsylvania Dutch Council, BSA
  • as a coordinator for the Model Legislature of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership program
  • as a former member of the Mount Joy (PA) Jaycee chapter;
  • as a former member and president (1991-92) of the Lancaster West Rotary Club (now Hempfield Rotary);
  • as a previous sponsor of the Landisville/Salunga Memorial Day Committee;
  • on the task force to re-write the constitution of the Hempfield Area Recreation Commission
  • on the Board of Directors of Susquehanna University.
